3 new games to engage your music and Bible students!
Pumpkins for Elementary Music Class
Here is a fun, quick game we will be using this week in my elementary music class centers.
Pumpkin Roll & Cover! Each student chooses a playing sheet that has 10 pumpkins. Each pumpkin has a simple rhythm or solfege pattern that is assigned to a number on a 6-sided die. Each player rolls the die and covers the matching pumpkin. For example, if the player has a rhythm sheet, they will add up the number of beats on each pumpkin. If they roll a 4, they cover a pumpkin that has 4 beats. If a player has a solfege sheet, each number of the die matches a specific solfege pattern in the dice key. So, if they roll a 3, and the pattern for 3 is SMSM, then they cover the pumpkin with that SMSM pattern. The player that covers all their pumpkins first wins! Easy pumpkin-peasy!

Owls & Piano Chords
If you want to work on root position chords with your piano students, then you’ll want this game:
Owl Chord Forest! The game board is a pathway of whimsical trees with chord names/root notes on them. There are 3 levels of playing cards to choose from: piano keys chords, chords on treble clef staff, and chords on bass clef staff. There are also 2 different versions of game play. One version, students simply work from start to finish on the game board, matching root notes to chords and then playing the chords on the piano. The player to reach the finish wins. In the 2nd version, students identify and play a chord on the card, then use owl tokens to claim that chord tree on the board. The player with the most owl tokens on the board wins!
It’s a great way for students to identify root position chords on the piano keys and/or on the staff, be able to locate and play them on the piano, and test their ears to hear the difference between major and minor chords!

Lions & Kings
Here is my latest Bible game for Sunday school class:
Daniel and the Den of Lions! Let your students test their Bible knowledge with the story of Daniel. his valiant stance for his belief in God regardless of the cost, and his victorious test of faith! As students make their way around the game board, they will have opportunity to answer trivia questions about the Biblical account of Daniel and the Lion’s Den, as well as complete challenges related to the story, and earn King’s Favor points to help them reach their own victory!

Whether you’re reinforcing musical skills or diving into Bible stories, these three games are sure to bring excitement and learning to your classroom!
