Since January I have been incorporating more games into the lessons every week. And every month I have picked a different theme for our games. For April, our theme was Easter!
I found a great resource for lesson activities through My Music Resource. All of my Easter games were created by Kate Thompson, who I talked about in the January and February blog posts and have used several of her resources. They are always fun and cute. And well, this set had bunnies and anything with bunnies I’m a sucker for!!

This was a whole collection of quick little games that covered a variety of subjects and they were created specifically for online teaching! We started off with the Time Signature Challenge, where the student had to identify the correct time signature for each melody example.

Then we practiced some Treble Clef note reading and Bass Clef note reading.

Next we practiced Skips and Steps and Intervals

We also practiced some Rhythms by adding a missing note or clapping the rhythm. I would clap one of the rhythms and the student had to guess. Then the student got to play “teacher” and clap one for me to guess. They always love that!

There were even some matching games for dynamics and various musical terms and symbols.

In addition to Kate Thompson’s wonderful activities, I found another cute bunny-themed one on Teachers Pay Teachers. This one comes from Becca’s Music Room. She has so many cute things for kids and teachers! This one was Piano Matching Bunnies. Each bunny comes in 3 pieces that you have to put together like a puzzle. The bunny ears have a letter from the music alphabet, the bunny tummy shows a note on the treble staff, and the bunny bottom shows a key marked on a small keyboard picture. The object is to match all 3 correct pieces to put the bunny back together.

All these games were quick to add at the end of the lesson and were an easy way to review with the kids some things we had already learned. I think the kids all had fun and enjoyed the cute bunnies. And if you haven’t figured out why I love bunnies so much, well…
