Happy New Year!

2020: It’s been a tough year for many people. I, myself, have had some struggles at times with the events of 2020 but overall, I feel it was a successful year. That may seem surprising but let me tell you why.

It was a year for challenge and new things. We were forced to rethink how we do a lot of things and forced to do without certain things. We were faced with new challenges we’ve never seen before. We were forced to look deep within ourselves and pull out strength we didn’t know we had.

And yet, we’ve made it to the end of the year and still in one piece, many of us stronger than before.

In regards to music, we had to figure out how to continue our music learning through a screen. I had to find new ways to teach and students had to find new ways to learn. I have to say that I am SUPER proud of all my students this year!! You made the switch to online lessons with me, put on a brave face, continued practicing, learned how to be more independent musicians, and continued to progress and succeed! We even completed our first virtual recital together that turned out so great!!

So, as we enter 2021, we don’t know what it may hold for us, but we will keep on music-ing on!! I’m sure there will be more challenges, but we will face them together. We will keep the music alive, in our hearts and our souls, however we have to do it.

Adios 2020! Here we come 2021!
