Virtual Classrooms

With all this distance learning going on, virtual classrooms are the big thing now. Teachers are looking for any way they can to reach out to students and keep them engaged, even at a distance. And students are searching for anything that resembles their normal routine to help keep them from getting bored or anxious. It’s definitely a challenge for many teachers and students.

Someone came up with the idea to make a virtual classroom, using Google Slides, to help combat these issues. And it gives the teachers something fun and creative to do too! There have been lots of teachers collaborating and sharing their ideas for their virtual classrooms with each other online so I decided to jump on the bandwagon. It was so fun and I gathered so many ideas, that I decided to create 4 of them!

This first one I’m sharing with you is my general music classroom. It has a little something for all levels, all ages, and covers a variety of musical topics and activities. When you click on various objects in the room, it takes you to a different link to some musical activity, such as listening or music games or music worksheets.

My general music classroom has so many fun things, I won’t list all of them here and I want you to be able to discover some things on your own. One I will mention is Google Chrome Lab. This is super fun and I had fun checking it out the other day. What’s great about Chrome Music Lab is that, you don’t really need to know anything about music for most of the activities you can do there. It’s an opportunity to be truly creative without any inhibitions and create some fun music. It’s fun for special needs students too!

Also in the general music classroom, there is something I included for parents to use as they navigate homeschooling (some for the first time) and I included something that’s not musical at all but just a personal little fun thing for everyone to enjoy! You’ll know it when you find it!
